I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I$ <br />I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> fie-CASE #: IZ. <br />CLASSIFY (TEMPORARY) ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN POSITION TO REGULAR <br /> STATUS (FULL-TIME) ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT <br /> By: James Norman, City Administrator ,., <br /> Joyee Pruitt Hottinger, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br />City Council authorized hiring a temporary, part-time administrative intern in September 1998. <br />Projects that have been assigned to this position include assisting with the possible expansion of <br />City Hall, creation of a City Interact web site and the City's upcoming twenty-fifth anniversary <br />celebration. The current position of Administrative Intern was filled in October 1998. Since this <br />time, City Administrator Norman has found there is a demonstrated need for a regular, full-time <br />status position, in order to provide additional workload assistance and continuity. This proposal <br />is for reclassification of the Administrative Intern position to a regular status, full-time position <br />of Administrative Assistant. In the City's Organizational Chart, it is proposed this position <br />would be horizontally in line with City Department Heads. In the future, it is proposed that the <br />Administrative Assistant may supervise administrative interns. <br /> <br />Budgeta~. Considerations <br />As the earlier case regarding personnel classifications requested, the $8,111.01 required for the <br />1999 full-time Administrative Assistant position is proposed to be transferred from the General <br />Fund "Other Contracted Services." The position is budgeted for $15.00/hour.
