RAMSEY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> MONTHLY REPORT <br /> APRIL 1999 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS <br /> <br />4/14/99 Hwy 10 assisted Elk River, used Stop Sticks. <br />4/15/99 DEPARTMENT MEETING: <br /> <br />RK: Discussed care and maintenance of the new shotguns. Advised officers to periodically wipe down <br /> the shotgun barrel with a silicon cloth or leave a note for a range instructor and he will see that it <br /> is done. <br /> <br />TD: Went over what the PSA's duties will be and a Standard Operations Manual was handed out to <br /> each officer. <br /> <br /> Advised that nametags arrived and handed them out. <br /> <br />JW: Mentioned that all purchased must be approved by a Sgt. or the Chief before ordering/purchasing <br /> equipment, uniforms, etc. <br /> <br /> th st <br /> Traffic problems at 158 & 83 - 161 Ave. by Central Park for speeding and parking - and 149th <br /> Ave. west of CR #56. ' <br /> <br />Y2K: In anticipation of problems with the new year and computers, etc. no vacation or holidays will be <br /> allowed for Dec. 29, 30, 31, and Jan. 01. <br /> <br />BP: Went over how to amend a State Accident Report. <br /> <br /> Shotgun demonstration: Tom Lueck's name was drawn and he completed the demonstration <br /> successfully. <br /> <br />DAG: Announced that MADD will be presenting Sheldon Erdman and an award for the most DUI <br /> arrests in 1998. <br /> <br />4/29/99 Officers worked Anoka from 17:30 hours to 18:44 hours while they had their annual awards <br /> ceremony. <br /> <br />The department responded to 738 Calls For Service compared to in 787 April of 1998. <br /> <br />DARE/COMMUNITY POLICING <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY AIDE UNIT ACTIVITY <br />The Public Safety Aide Unit consists of 11 members from the community. Our Unit's Vision is to create a secure, <br />aware and involved community by uniting law enforcement and residents. Our mission is to provide a variety of <br />support services to the community and the police department in a non-sworn capacity. The unit is under the <br />direction of Corporal Tim Dwyer and Chief Gustafson. <br /> <br />In APRIL 1999, a total of 143.5 hours were donated by members in the following areas: <br /> <br />d-/ <br /> <br /> <br />
