MEETINGS / TRAINING: <br /> <br />There was (1) regular meetings this month. On 04-20-99, Officer Sullivan conducted a 2 hr block of instruction on <br />Firearms Familiarization and Identification. During this meeting Corporal Dwyer also conducted an interest survey <br />of the group and we discussed unit goals and objectives. On 04-25-99, (2) members participated in a 5 hr "Search <br />and Rescue" training session sponsored by the Anoka County Law Enforcement Training. Corporal Dwyer was <br />instrumental in setting up this program. A total of 32.5 hours were donated by Public Safety ,.hide Members for <br />training in February. <br /> <br />GENERAL DUTY: ' <br /> <br />5 members participated in a total of 53.5 hours of General Public Safety Aide Duty. During the course of their <br />duties, the Public Safety Aides conducted business checks, assisted officers on 8 calls for service, handled 4 <br />lockouts, 2 juvenile loitering complaints, and 3 non-priority calls. They also patrolled area parks, and delivered <br />council packets <br /> <br />RIDE-ALONGS: <br /> <br />2 members participated in a total of 18 hours of ride-along with licensed officers. This is primarily a learning <br />experience for them and is meant to increase their skills and knowledge of what the police department does. Within <br />their authority, they assist full-time officers as needed. <br /> <br />YOUTH ACTIVITIES: <br /> <br />PSA Tim Burns participated in a total of 9.5 hours it the Ramsey Community School "Teen Night" program. <br />YOUTH / COMMUNITY POLICING ACTIVITIES: <br /> <br />COMMUNITY POLICING ACTIVITIES: <br /> <br />(3) Neighborhood Crime Watch Meetings were organized and implemented by Volunteer Public Safety Aides this <br />month. These members donated a total of 20 hfs in the set-up and promotion of these block clubs; they assisted <br />Staff PSA Laurie Swadner with the presentations, who put forth I0 hfs in presentation and prep time. <br /> <br />Crime Watch Meetings: <br /> <br />April 17- 14800 block of Zuni St.- approximately 10 in attendance <br />April 18 - 17300 block of Sapphire - approximately 12 in attendance <br />April 28 - 14300 block of Potassium - approximately 5 in attendance <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
