Participation by City Staff and Officials <br />Process and Services <br />City staff would be expected to provide background information, prior plans <br />and similar information that may not be otherwise accessible; to review <br />drafts of his work; to meet with applicants, members of the public or City <br />officials; and to meet in person for discussions as needed. It is assumed that <br />the staff would provide prompt responses to inquiries via telephone or the <br />Internet <br />Public Participation in Zoning Code Amendments <br />Public participation in the review of draft amendments to the text of the City <br />Code may take several forms depending on the nature of the amendment and <br />the desire of the City. These include: <br />• Simply process the amendment through the normal course of the <br />Planning Commission and the City Council with notification as required <br />for a public hearing. <br />• Provide a copy of the draft amendment on the City's Website. <br />• Mail copies of the draft amendment to landowners who the City <br />anticipates may be directly affected or who have expressed an interest in <br />the matter. <br />• Conduct an informal meeting of interested landowners, developers, <br />business owners or other citizens to learn about and comment on the <br />draft amendment. <br />• Televise the review of the draft amendment by the Planning <br />Commission and City Council on the community cable television <br />channel, QCTV. <br />Anticipated Product of the Zoning Code Amendments <br />It is anticipated that Weber Community Planning would provide the precise <br />language of the draft City Code amendment in the numbering and format <br />used by the City. Along with the wording could be explanatory graphics <br />that the City could chose to include in the City Code or not, and explanatory <br />text. A sidebar format is often helpful for presenting explanatory text. <br />Proposal to Provide City of Ramsey Planning Services 5-3 <br />
