Facilities that started up after September 17, 2007 must be in compliance with the requirements and notifications upon startup. 1. Compliance Certification for Surface Coating full requirements detailed in 40 CFR 63.11173(e) through (g) If you surface coat motor vehicles or mobile equipment you must meet the following requirements: • Spray -applied coatings must be applied in a preparation station or spray booth that: o Has a full roof and three complete walls/curtains when coating subassemblies. o Has a full roof and four walls/Curtains when coating complete vehicles. o Has either dry filters demonstrated to achieve at least 98% capture of paint coating overspray or a waterwash system. o Is ventilated at either negative pressure, or at positive pressure of no more than 0.05 incfies water gauge if the booth is sealed and has an automatic pressure balancing system.
