The committee met and <br />took action on case/ti and #4. Cases #2, #3 and #5 were for discussion purposes. <br /> <br />#1 Request for traffic calming in the Emerald Pond Neighborhood. <br /> <br />Staff reviewed data from the area including, accident history, current sign placement, <br />effective speed control zones and main driving routes through the neighborhood. Staff <br />also presented a traffic control plan, which did not include any additional stop signs but <br />did include additional speed limit signs and pedestrian crossing signs. Several <br />representatives from the neighborhood were present to offer opinions and requests for <br />signage in the area. <br /> <br />The committee voted to place all-way stop signs at the following locations: 144th Lane <br /> rd <br />and Tungsten Way, 143 Lane and Potassium St, 142nd Avenue and Neon St, 145th Lane <br />and Potassium St. The committee also voted to place speed limit signs on all city streets <br />entering in from County Road #116 and Sunfish Lake Blvd. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to accept/deny the Public Works Committee's action to place all-way stop signs <br />at the above mentioned intersections and to place speed limit signs at all city streets <br />entering in from County Road #116 and Sunfish Lake Blvd. <br /> <br />#2 Update on T.H. #47 STP Project <br /> <br />The purpose of this case was to update the committee on the progress of the T.H. #47 <br />STP Project. The cities engineering consultant, SRF Inc., is preparing plans which are <br />90% complete. The plans have been sent to MnDOT for review and return comments are <br />due any day. At the time of the Public Works Committee ten of thirteen homestead <br />properties have been acquired. Eight of the remaining 26 parcels will require <br />uncomplicated appraisal since the estimated value of each is less than $5,000. <br /> <br />In the Public Works Committee Agenda is an attachment showing the correct financial <br />status of the T.H. #47/Sunwood Drive project in comparison to the CIP budget. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />None required, case was for information purposes. <br /> <br /> <br />
