Voting No: None. <br /> <br /> Case #3: Request for Site Plan Approval; Case of Mike Sjoquist, Mike's <br /> Woodworking <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that, Mike Sjoquist is requesting site plan approval to <br />construct an expansion to his shop, Mike s Woodworking. Mike-'-s Woodworking is located at <br />7520 149'h Avenue Northwest, in the Pineview Estates 2nd Addition P.U.D. This P.U.D is to <br />accommodate residences with businesses operating out of accessory buildings on the site. <br /> <br /> Administrator Frolik that Mr. Sjoquist is proposing to construct an 864 <br />Zoning <br /> explained <br /> square <br />foot addition to the existing 2,964 square foot woodworking shop, for a total shop size of 3,828 <br />square feet. The purpose of the addition is to augment his warehouse space and adjusted <br />building size is in conformance with the lot coverage restriction on the commercial portion of the <br />property. The addition meets all setback requirements. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the site <br />plan on June 1, 1999 and are recommending along with Staff site plan approval contingent upon <br />compliance with City Staff Review Letter dated May 24, 1999. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zi,_r~_,~e~an, seconded by Councilmember Hendricksen, to approve <br />the proposed site plan for Mike s Woodworking contingent upon compliance with City Staff <br />Review Letter dated May 24, 1999. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Hendricksen, and <br />Anderson. Voting No: None. . <br /> <br />Case #4: for Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to Exceed Sign Size and Height <br /> Request <br /> a <br /> Requirements; Case of Dolphin Real Estate/Burger King <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that on May 17, 1999, the City received an application fi.om <br />Dolphin Real Estate Partnership to exceed the sign size and height restrictions for the new <br />Burger King restaurant in the B-# Highway Business District on Highway #10. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik explained that in the commercial and industrial districts, the City <br />Code restricts the ground or fi-eestanding sign size to 100 square feet (200 square feet aggregate <br />surface area). Sign heights are restricted to 25 feet from grade to top of sign. Burger King is- <br />proposing a freestanding sign that includes a 144 square foot franchise logo and a 45 square foot <br />reader board, for a total of 189 feet. The sign height is proposed to be 35 feet. <br /> square <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik noted that the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />June 1, 1999 regarding the request.
