The issues included (a) snow removal ~and street
maintenance, (b) use of the private streets within the development by outside public, (c) speed
control within the subdivision, (d) the ownership and charges for street lights within the
subdivision, and (e) the developer escrow for street cleaning and sealcoating.

Council Action:

The Committee recommended that "private street" signs be made available to the homeowner
association. The Committee also recommended that the City Engineer meet with the officers of
the association to clarify issues and report back at a future Public Works Committee meeting.

Case #2: Request for Stop Signs

Stop signs had been request at three locations: (a) Uranium Street and 141st Avenue; (b) Garnet
Street and 137th Avenue; and (c) Garnet Street and 137th Lane. The petitioner for the Uranium
and 141st Avenue sign was not in attendance. Councilmember Connolly, who was in attendance,
indicated that she would be interested in becoming more familiar with the locations and traffic
conditions. The Committee tabled action until the September meeting,

Council Action:

None required.

Case #4: Sunwood Drive Plans and Specifications

At their August 10, 1999 meeting, Council confirmed the City's intention to proceed with the
Sunwood Drive project between Sunny Ponds and T.H. #47. However, it was emphasized that
the Council was reserving control over the details on the plans. It is anticipated that approval of
the plans will be requested from the City within the next three weeks, and several design details
are still easily negotiable even at this late stage. Specifically, these details include: (a) location
of a trail, (b) designating crosswalks, and (c) whether terrace trees should be included on the
project. The Committee requested that the City Engineer schedule a neighborhood meeting for
August 31, 1999.

Council Action:

None at this time.
