"Lanai" is a Hawaiian term for porch or veranda. The proposed <br />structure will essentially be a roofed porch that will include retractable screens (please <br />see the attached exhibit for a rendering of the lanai). <br />Variance The proposed lanai will require an 18 -foot variance from the required 50 -foot <br />Request(s): lakeshore setback from Lake Minnetonka. <br />CUP The proposed changes will require approval of a Shoreland Impact Plan CUP for total <br />Request(s): hardcover in the amount of 41.08%. <br />Applicable <br />Codes: <br />Section 1017.06. Lot Area and Setback Requirements. Requires that all principal <br />structures in the Rl-A zoning district be at least 50 feet from the front property line <br />(the lakeshore), and at least 8 feet from all side lot lines. <br />1070.09 Minimum Setback Requirement. Requires that all principal structures in <br />the shoreland district be at least 50 feet from the ordinary high water mark. <br />Section 1070.11 Impervious Surface Coverage.
