I <br /> I <br /> I <br />'1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />! <br />! <br />I <br /> <br />RAMSEY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />MONTHLY REPORT <br /> AUGUST 1999 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS <br /> <br />The department responded to 749 Calls For Service compared to in 804 August of 1998. <br />Officer Singewald worked the Anoka County Fair booth 2 days <br /> <br />August 3rd, National Night Out - 17 block parties - approximately 1000 people in attendance. <br /> <br />DARE/COMMUNITY POLICING <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY AIDE UNIT ACTIVITY <br /> <br />The Ramsey Police Department Public Safety Aide Unit consists of 11 members from the community. Our Unit's <br />Vision is to create a secure, aware and involved community by uniting law enforcement and residents. Our mission <br />is to provide a variety of support services to the community and the police department in a non-sworn capacity. The <br />unit is divided into (2) divisions, the uniformed Public Safety Aides (Police Reserves) and the newly formed <br />Community Outreach Team. <br /> <br />In August 1999, a total of 139.25 hrs were donated by Public Safety Aides members in the following areas: <br /> <br />MEETINGS / TRAINING: <br /> <br />Total Time Commitment: 30.5 hrs <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />GENERAL DUTY: <br /> <br />Total Time Commitment: 12.5 hrs <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />(2) PSA's conducted 12.5 hours of general PSA patrol, handling (2) public assists and (3) officer assists. <br />SPECIAL EVENTS / DUTIES: <br /> <br />Total Time Commitment: 58.25hrs <br />Explanation: <br />On 08/03/99, (6) volunteer PSA's assisted the police department staff with the Nat'l Night Out activities throughout <br />the City. Nat'l Night Out was a great success and we could not have done it without these volunteers. (2) <br />additional PSA's hosted Nat'! Night Out parties. <br /> <br />On 08/14/99, (4) PSA's assisted officers with traffic direction during the day of concerts at Diamond's Sports Bar. <br /> <br />On 08/24/99, PSA Brotkowski represented the police department by participating in a Department of Public Safety <br />Seat-Belt media event. <br /> <br /> <br />
