Mr. Felder replied 12,470 volts. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nixt questioned what area the substation will serve. <br /> <br />Mr. Felder explained that the substation will serve the A.E.C Energy Park, residential areas up to <br />153rd Avenue, and the development to the west. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nixt questioned if there would be any significant noise output. <br /> <br />Mr. Felder stated that there may be a constant hum, but the most noticeable noise would be fans <br />in the summer. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jensen stated that she would like the substation to be landscaped and buffered. <br /> <br />Mr. Felder replied that they will work with the City on proper screening. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Dempsey, seconded by Commissioner Nixt, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt findings of fact in the affirmative relating to Connexus' request for a conditional <br />use permit for an electrical substation. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Commissioner Wivoda questioned if they should be worried about an <br />antenna tower in the area. Zoning Administrator Frolik explained that the antenna tower is <br />regulated by the FDA and any additional telecommunication towers would require a permit. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Dempsey, Nixt, Jensen, <br />Johnson, Kociscak, and Wivoda. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Dem_psey, seconded by Commissioner Nixt, to recommend the City <br />Council approve Connexus' request for a conditional use permit for an electrical substation and <br />adopt a resolution declaring terms of same, contingent upon modifying the Landscape Plan. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Dempsey, Nixt, Jensen, <br />Johnson, Kociscak, and Wivoda.
