Commissioner LaMere questioned if there are currently enough volunteers. Mr. Boos ~tated no <br />that more volunteers are needed, <br /> <br />Motion by Comm/ssioner Kolfe, and seconded by Commissioner Osm~m, to recommend to Staff <br />to use park easement money received from Northern States Gas for the Community Built <br />Playground. <br /> <br />Motion carded, Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Rolfe, Osm~rn, Asf'ahl~ Johns, and <br />LaMere. Voting No: None. Absent: Droegemuetler. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mr. Boos stated that he could provide a sample of letters which would <br />describe the project for Commissioners to send to poss~le contributors that could be modified for <br />each specific Comm/ssioner Io be listed as a contact. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostmm suggesting putting together a list of organizations and have a letter sent to <br />them with information on the project and let them know that a Commissioner would be willing to <br />meet with their organization and give a presentation on the project. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook suggested sending out a mail merge letter that would explain the playground <br />and then follow-up with any organization the Commission had not heard from, <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe questioned if any type of recognition will be given to contributors. Mr. Boos <br />suggested a sign at the park listing anyone donating mom than 500 dollars. Chairperson Cook <br />stated it is a community park project and everyone who participates in the project should receive <br />recognition. Chairperson Ostmm suggested lis'ting all of the volunteers no matter how they <br />participated. <br /> <br />Mr. Boos stated that he will send a letter to the people who donated to the bike rodeo last year <br />stating the bike rodeo will not be held this year, and explain to them about the community built <br />playground. <br /> <br />Case #4: Note Donner Addition <br /> <br />Noted. <br /> <br />COM/VI~SION/STAFF INI'UT <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commissioners expressed concern about not receiving all of their <br />Commiss/on materials. They explained that some Commissioner will receive the information and <br />others will not. Mr. Boos stated he checked the mailing list and verified what is being sent so he <br />doesn't understand why some Commissioners are not receiving the materials. <br /> <br />Commissioners noted that Park Maintenance Surveys were not received by Commissioner Reid, <br />Commissioner Ashhl, Commissioner Ostmm, Commissioner LaMere, and Commissioner <br />Droegemueller and requested that they receive one. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/May 13, 1999 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
