RAMSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> BODY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />OUTLETS: There shall be two standard tank outlets: one for the tank to the pump suction line <br />which shall be a 4", and one for a tank fill line. All tank fill couplings shall be backed with flow <br />deflectors to break up the stream of water entering the tank. <br /> <br />MOUNTING: The tank shall rest on the subframe cross-members with an unsupported area not <br />to exceed 530 square inches on tanks up to 40" in height. On tanks over 40" in height, an <br />unsupported area of not more than 400 square inches must be maintained. All tanks shall be <br />isolated from those cross-members with a minimum of 1/4" hard rubber strips 2" to 3" wide with <br />a minimum of 60D hardness. The tank shall side cradle mounted in the under body subframe. <br />The subframe shall consist of 3" x 1-1/2" channel cross-members and 3" x 1-1/2" channel which <br />shall extend around the entire perimeter of the tank and be welded to the cross-members. The <br />channels will keep the tank from shifting front to back or side to side. Although the tank is <br />designed on the free floating suspension principle, it shall be required that the tank have hold <br />down restraints mounted on the side walls of the hose bed and extend down so that they rest <br />approximately 1/2" above the top of the tank. There shall be a hard rubber isolating pad with a <br />minimum thickness of 1/4" mounted on the underside of the tank hold down angle. <br /> <br />Poly tank shall have the tank manufacturer's "LIFETIME WARRANTY" TO THE ORIGINAL <br />PURCHASER. (NO EXCEPTIONS) <br /> <br />The booster tank will have a capacity of 1,000 gallons. <br /> <br />Page 13 of 33 <br /> <br /> <br />
