RAMSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> BODY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Black Laminol Full Height Side Pump Panels <br />TOP CONTROL SIDE PANEL MATERIAL <br /> <br />Thc side pump panels shall be manufactured from heavy duty non-glare black "Laminol" <br />aluminum, that is capable of withstanding the effects of extreme weather and temperature. <br /> <br />Pump Operator's Instrument Panel <br />PUMP OPERATOR'S PANEL <br /> <br />There shall be two master pump gauges furnished and installed on the apparatus. One master <br />compound gauge and one master pressure gauge. Gauges to be mounted in stainless steel bezels <br />and shall be labeled "intake" and "discharge". (NFPA 1901 STD 12-12.2.1) <br /> <br />There shall be an individual discharge gauge furnished and installed on all 1 1/2" discharges <br />according to NFPA 1901 STD. On lines 3.0" and smaller, if a flowmeter is to be provided, it <br />shall replace the pressure gauge. Gauges to be mounted on the instrument panel for easy <br />operation and simple service access. Gauges to be mounted I stainless steel bezels. Individual <br />discharge gauges shall be located above the corresponding valve control handle. (NFPA 1901 <br />STD 12-12.2) <br /> <br />There shall be a mechanical pump revolution adapter drive with the cap furnished and installed <br />to check the revolutions of the fire pump impeller. The rpm counter shall have a label indicating <br />the ratio of the manual counter. (NFPA 1901 STD 12-12.1) <br /> <br />There shall be a pressure and vacuum test gauge adapter with chrome plated plugs furnished and <br />installed on the pump operators panel. (NFPA 1901 STD 12-12.6) <br /> <br />There shall be color-coded labels used on the instrument panel to identify the various discharge <br />and intake controls. For standardization, the colors shall follow NFPA 1901 standards. Exact <br />tag colors and descriptions shall be determined at the time of engineering. <br /> <br />MASTER GAUGES <br /> <br />No-Shok or equivalent 4" pressure gauges shall monitor the master pump intake and master <br />pump discharge pressures. They shall be located on the pump operator's panel and located close <br />to each other with the intake gauge to the lef~ of the pump discharge gauge. The master intake <br />gauge shall read from 30" vacuum to 400 psi while the master discharge gauge shall read from 0 <br />psi to 400 psi. The construction shall be a heavy duty, reinforced stainless steel case with a <br />machined brass stem connection solidly bolted to the stainless steel case. The pointer in each <br />gauge shall have an orange tip for increased visibility. The gauges facing the plate cover shall be <br />white with black numbers. <br /> <br />Page 15 of 33 <br /> <br /> <br />
