Ramsy Fire <br /> <br /> CHASSIS SPECIFICATIONS <br />Assist handles 18" Stainless Steel (4) <br /> <br />Four (4) 18" knurled anti-slip one piece stainless steel exterior assist handles shall be installed, <br />one (1) behind each cab door with rubber inserts. <br /> <br /> ***CAB EXTERIOR, MIRRORS*** <br />CAB REAR VIEW MIRRORS <br /> <br />Exterior Mirrors, West Coast Style <br /> <br />Two (2) West Coast style rear view mirrors, with flat 16" x 6" head and 7 1/2" lower convex <br />mirrors shall be provided. <br /> <br />The mirror heads shall be mounted on stainless steel bow swing away-type arms, aluminum <br />center mounted to produce less vibration. <br /> <br />***EXTERIOR PAINT*** <br /> <br />EXTERIOR PAINT <br /> <br />Cab Paintine Single Color Exterior <br /> <br />Ail cab painting must be completed prior to the installation of glass, accessories or any other cab <br />trim to assure complete paint coverage and maximum corrosion protection. <br /> <br />The entire cab must be disc ground to remove any surface oxidation or surface debris that may <br />hinder the paint adhesion. <br /> <br />Upon the application of required body fillers and their preparation, the cab shall be primed with a <br />coating designed for corrosion resistance and surfacer-paint adhesion. The entire cab then shall <br />be coated with an intermediate surfacer that is designed to fill minor surface defects, provide an <br />adhesive bond between the primer and the paint, and improve the color and gloss retention of the <br />color coats. <br /> <br />The cab shall be finish sanded and painted with 2 to 4 coats of an acrylic urethane base-coat <br />clear-coat type system designed not only for color retention but to resist acid rain and most <br />atmospheric chemicals found on the fire ground or emergency scene. The cab interior shall be <br />painted the same color as the exterior. <br /> <br />The Spartan standard PPG Delta or Dupont 5000, 6000 paint shall be warranted for 7 years <br />against cracking, checking or peeling and loss of gloss caused by chalking or fading (red). <br /> <br />Page 17 of 19 <br /> <br /> <br />
