PROPOSED ORDINANCE #99-0 <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING AND <br />SUBDMSION OF LAND CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.02 "DEFINITIONS" AND SECTION 9.11.02 <br />"ACCESSORY USES" OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 9.02 (Definitions) shall be amended to replace the term and definition for "Garage, <br />private" with the following: <br /> <br /> "Garage, primary residential": A garage attached to the principal building or dwelling, <br />or a detached garage where an attached garage does not exist, intended for the storage of vehicles <br />and items accessory to the principal use of the property. Primary garages, attached or detached, <br />shall be considered accessory structures. An attached garage shall not be considered a part of the <br />principal building or dwelling for home occupation purposes. <br /> <br />Section 9.11.02 (Accessory Uses), Subd.'s 3 through 12 shall be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Subd. 3 Any proposed accessory building shall be located on the parcel of land so <br />as to allow for orderly future resubdivision of a parcel on which the building is to be located. <br />Prior to issuance of a building permit for the building, the applicant shall provide the Building <br />Official with a sketch plan showing the location of the proposed building. The Building Official <br />shall not issue the permit if the proposed location will not allow for orderly future subdivision of <br />the parcel. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4 No accessory building shall be constructed on any lot prior to the time of <br />construction of the principal building. <br /> <br />Subd. 5 <br /> a. <br /> <br />The height of accessory buildings shall not exceed 22 feet on property <br />outside of the Metropolitan Urban Service Area. <br />The height of accessory buildings shall not exceed 16 feet on property <br />inside of the Metropolitan Urban Service Area. <br />Two story and/or split level accessory buildings are prohibited in <br />residential districts. <br /> <br /> <br />
