.two (2) dogs are permitted. An Administrative Kennel License may be obtained <br />from the Ci_ty to keep three (3) dogs contingent upon payment of a fee, in an <br /> <br />amount established by .Ci _ty Council, and meeting the following criteria: <br />a) <br />b) <br /> <br /> All dogs are currently licensed by the Ci _ty; <br /> Appropriate measures, as determined by the City, have been taken to <br /> prevent dogs from running at large; <br /> .c) Kennel structures (dog houses and/or fenced runs) are located at least 10 <br /> feet from any abuttin_g prope. _rtv line. Fenced yards shall not be considered <br /> fenced nms~ <br /> <br /> d) An appropriate., plan, as determined by the City_,. is in place for removal of <br /> excrement from theyard on a regular basis; <br /> <br /> e) No nuisance complaints have been received at the City within the previous <br /> twenty-four (24) months relating to the dogs being kept on the property_. <br /> <br /> Administrative Kennel licenses may be denied or revoked by the City <br /> Administrator or his/her designee for cause including unsanitary 'facilities, <br /> keeping more dogs than the license authorizes, .keel0ing.unlicensed dogs, allowing <br /> dogs to run at large or...other nuisance corn. plaints. Kennel licenses expire <br /> biennially on the same date as the most recent rabies vaccination. Biennial <br /> renewal applications are due 30 'days before the expiration date. <br /> A Conditional Use Permit is required for four (4) or more dogs. <br /> Subd.-3. Licensing. All dogs kept, harbored, or maintained in the City shall be <br />licensed and registered. Applications for licenses shall be made to the Administrator upon forms <br />provided by the Administrator. Said application shall require the owner, among other <br />information required by the Administrator, to supply the name, age, predominant breed, sex, <br />color and markings of each dog sought to be licensed. In addition, when the applicant or owner <br />has been convicted of violation of Subd. 15 relative to the dog sought to be licensed, the <br />application shall require proof of public liability insurance in the minimum amount of $300,000. <br />Upon submission of the application and a certificate evidencing compliance with the terms and <br />provisions of Subd. 4, relating to vaccination for rabies and upon payment of a fee cf $5.0~ as <br />established by City Council resolution, the Administrator or his or her designee, shall issue a <br />license. Said license shall be, effective ',"~;~ tt' ..... ,2~+ <br />~ar--~. xpire two years from the date of the most recent rabies vaccination. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4. Tags. The license shall be in the form of an identification tag and <br />shall be affixed by the owner to a collar to be worn by the dog. In case a tag is lost or destroyed, <br />a duplicate will be issued by the Administrator upon presentation of a receipt showing payment <br />of the license fee for the current period and a payment "*' <br /> - -, ................ v ...... as established <br />_b.y Ci_ty Council resolution. Dog tags shall not be transferrable from one dog to another and no <br />refunds shall be made on any dog license fee because of death of the dog or the owners leaving <br />the City prior to expiration of the license period. <br /> <br /> Subd. 5. Rabies Vaccination. Every owner or keeper of a dog shall cause the <br />same to be vaccinated by a licensed veterinary with anti-rabies vaccine at least once in every 24- <br />month period and prior to the time such dog shall reach the age of six months. <br /> <br /> Subd. 6. Animal at Large. Every owner or keeper of a dog shall cause the <br />same to be under the control of and in custody of a person of sufficient age to adequately control <br /> <br /> <br />
