Ramsey Senior Housing Market Study

January1998

Employment

Employment growth trends reflect the overall health of an area's economy, which in turn is an important
factor relating to housing demand. Table 3 shows employment data from 1980 to 2010 for the Primary'
Market Study Area and Ramsey. Data was not available for the Secondary Market Area. The employment
growth of the Study Area has been very substantial. The growth from 1980 to 1990 was over 200 percent
for the Study Area and over 300 percent in Ramsey. The employment growth indicates the area's transition
from a housing community to a diversified community with employment opportunities. Projections for the
Primary Market Study Area and Ramsey indicate on-going substantial employment growth.

U.S. Census Change

1980 1990 2000 2010 1980-1990 1990-2000 2000-2010

NO.
