I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I PUBLIC I~EARING PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, February 3, 1998, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Nfinnesota to hear input regarding a request for a Conditional Use Permit to Operate a Two-Family Dwelling Unit in the Single-Family District; Case of Scott and Gwyn Simpson. Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden Commissioner Benjamin Deemer Commissioner Charles LaDue Commissioner Michael Terry Commissioner Bradley Thorud Members Absent: Commissioner' Sharon Jensen Also Present: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Community Development Assistant Scan Walther CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bawden convened the public hearing at 7:31 p.m. PRESENTATION Zoning Administrator Frolik stated a letter was received from Susan Hamilton and James Donovan in opposition of the operation of a duplex in the Single Family neighborhood. Zoning Administrator Frolik indicated the property is zoned Single Family Residential and stated the Simpson's purchased the property with the intent of obtaining a conditional use permit to operate the home as a legal two family rental unit. Ms. Simpson submitted a letter to the Commission. She stated they have lived across the street from the residence for the past eight years and indicated it had always been rental property. The Simpson's purchased the property in June, 1997, with the intent of obtaining a Conditional Use Permit and renting both units. She indicated the Anoka County Assessor identified the property as a duplex, not a Single Family dwelling. She explained that the residence is currently vacant, however, indicated her family would be living in the building while their new home is being constructed.
