It should be noted that this funding only provides Ramsey residents with a benefit for the three
years to be funded. It has been noted in the minutes from the Park Commission and the
memorandum from Mr. Lindberg that this agreement would expire at the end of the three years at
which time both parties to the agreement will be free to re-negotiate or withdraw from the
agreement. While "agreement" has been mentioned in several areas, there is no formal
agreement in existence. The City of Andover approved the funding by motion as a consent
agenda item at one of their meetings and the City of Anoka has apparently been approving the
participation by others through the resolution process.

Council Action:

Based on discussion - approve/deny funding request in the amount of $4,000 for 1998, 1999 and
2000, to be paid to the City of Anoka for the Aquatic Center from the Lawful Gambling Fund
and, if approved, direct the City Attorney to make a determination on how an "agreement"
should be handled.

Reviewed by:

Copies also distributed to:

City Administrator
Finance Director
Fire Chief/Director of Public Works
ParksFt_/tilities Supervisor

Park Commission

CC: 03/10/98
