PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 1998, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:38 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Recommend Hiring Laurie Swadner as Public Safety Aids <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported there were 45 applications received for <br />the part-time Public Safety Aide position. Nine interviews were conducted by the interviewing <br />panel which consisted of the Police Chief, Fire Chief, Police Sergeant and the Administrative <br />Services Manager. The panel is recommending the position be offered to Laurie Swadner. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend that Council <br />authorize hiring Laurie Swadner at a salary of $10.44 per hour to fill the part-time Public Safety <br />Aide position, contingent upon successful completion of a physical examination and background <br />checks. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
