Case #2: Receive Recommendation for Planning Commission Appointments <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith explained that she received six applications for <br />the two vacancies on the Planning Commission. Five of the people were interviewed by a panel <br />consisting of the Chair and Vice Chair of the Planning Commission, Mayor Gamec, <br />Councilmember Beyer and the Administrative Services Manager. All candidates were asked the <br />same questions. The sixth applicant (Leo Anderson) had indicated he would not be available for <br />the interviews conducted on February 19. The interviewing panel recommended appointing Joe <br />Wivoda for one of the vacancies, but to wait to appoint the second person until an interview can <br />be conducted with Mr. Anderson. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamee and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend that Council <br />appoint Joe Wivoda to fill one of the vacancies on the Planning Commission for a term to expire <br />December 31, 2001, and that the second vacancy will be appointed following the completion of <br />the interview with Mr. Anderson. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Beyer.
