Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM) is made up of 71 member cities in the <br />greater Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. The mission of AMM is to be a service and lobby <br />organization for member municipalities. AMM is governed by a board of directors of local <br />officials from member cities which includes a president, vice president, past president, and 16 <br />directors, serving staggered two-year terms. Board members are elected at the general <br />membership annual meeting in May. The representation on the Board of Directors is developed <br />to be consistent, geographically, with city membership. The Board of Directors meets monthly <br />to guide the general organization operations and to direct staff. <br /> <br />Nominations are currently being solicited for four vacancies on the AMM Board, effective June, <br />1998. Councilmember Haas Steffen has indicated an interest in serving as a representative to the <br />AMM Board of Directors.
