CITY OF RAMSEY POSITION ANALYSIS <br /> <br />POSITION TITLE: <br /> <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Community Development <br /> <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: City Adminis .trator <br /> <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br /> <br />To strengthen the overall health and vitality of the City through developing, managing and <br />evaluating community development programs, including planning, development review, <br />redevelopment, housing, building plan review, inspection and code enforcement. <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br /> A. Directs and manages operations of the Community Development Department. <br />B. Supervises Zoning Administrator, Community Development Assistant, Building Official, <br /> Building Inspector, Environmental Specialist, and the contract with the Economic <br /> Development consultant. <br />C. Prepares, implements and monitors Department work plan. <br />D. Prepares annual Department budget and monitors expenditures. .. <br />E. Initiates, develops and oversees community development programs and services, <br /> pursuant to policy direction from the City Council and City Administrator, adopted <br /> plans, regulations and budgets. <br />F. Provides professional planning and development advice to elected and appointed officials, <br /> City staff, citizens and developers. <br />G. Assigns and monitors staff support to the City's Planning Commission, Economic <br /> Development Commission and Economic Development Authority. <br />H. Represents the City and the Community Development Department at meetings and on <br /> boards and task forces with other agencies and organizations. <br />I. Ensures City compliance with its Comprehensive Plan. <br />J.
