Ae <br /> <br />Bo <br /> <br />TASKS RELATED TO RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />Directs and manages operations of the Community Development Department, <br />including Zoning Administration, Code Enforcement, Building Inspections, <br />Environmental Services, Grant Writing, Recycling, Housing and Economic <br />Development functions. : <br /> <br />1. Supervises the development review process. <br />2. Assists the Zoning Administrator in interpreting and applying City code requirements to <br /> cases which do not fit the norm. <br />3. Supervises enforcement activities related to zoning, housing, building and nuisance <br /> codes. <br />4. Assists Community Development Assistant in developing methods to deal with chronic <br /> code violations and problem properties. <br />5. Supervises building inspection activities. <br />6. Designs strategies to maximize housing opportunities in the City. <br />7. Coordinates economic development activities. <br />8. Oversees development and maintenance of up-to-date information for development <br /> prospects, e.g. land availability, area demographics, markets, taxes, financing options. <br />9. Negotiates with developers regarding desired development and available assistance. <br /> 10. Assists in design of effective assistance packages for expanding and new businesses. <br /> <br />Supervises Zoning Administrator, Community Development Assistant, Building <br />Official, Building Inspector, Environmental Specialist, and the contract with the <br />Economic Development consultant. <br /> <br />1. Defines work duties and expected level of performance. <br />2. Assigns work.. <br />3. Evaluates work procedures, processes and schedules for efficiency and effectiveness and <br /> initiates redesign as needed. <br />4. Evaluates employee performance. <br />5. Assists with employee development as needed. <br />6. Administers contract for Economic Development consulting services. <br /> <br />C. Prepares, implements and monitors annual Community Department work plan. <br /> <br />1. Assists divisions with development of short and long term goals related to <br /> growth management, land use, housing, transportation, parks, trails and <br /> open spaces, public facilities, solid waste and recycling, and economic development. <br />2. Reviews, revises and approves work plans of Zoning and Inspections divisions. <br />3. Monitors and evaluates progress in implementing division work plans. <br />4.
