City of RAMSEY Public Works <br /> Activity Report for March 1998 <br /> <br />Snow Removal <br /> <br />Very little activity throughout the month. Followed up with a small number of citizens who had <br />complaints on p~owing issues. <br /> <br />New 2 1/2 ton truck was ordered during the month. The box, wing and plow will be ordered in April <br />to coincide with the delivery of the truck. Estimated delivery date is mid to late December. <br /> <br />Streets Update <br /> <br />Some sign work was completed along with minor road repairs. More extensive repairs will be <br />done after street sweeping project is complete. <br /> <br />Xenolth St. from County 64 to 178th Ln is beginning to have bad spots surfacing. City Eng. will be <br />asked to prepare a quote for improvements. <br /> <br />Completed sweeping on aprox 1/3 of city's streets. Had some delay due to weather. (Rain <br />standing on streets.) <br /> <br />Some minor storm drain repair conducted through out the month. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Update <br /> <br />Well ~4 blasting took place during month in an attempt to bring water output up to an acceptable <br />level. The city did receive some complaints due to the blasting. 1 homeowner reported a broken <br />window. The issue was turned over to the well driller for action. <br /> <br />Preliminary SCADA installation activities taking place in March. Completion should be in April. <br />Interior painting, including floor, at well house #1 almost complete. <br /> <br />Conducted flow tests for commercial developments. <br /> <br />Pump repaired at Central Park for irrigation system, a Clay Valve will be installed and system <br />should be operational shortly. <br /> <br />Utilized College/High School students during spring break week to do some spring preparations <br />despite poor weather. <br /> <br />Equipment Issues <br /> <br />What broke: <br /> -Sweeper (#612) had engine repairs with alternator replaced <br /> -Loader (#601) Broke a serpentine belt <br /> -Snowplow truck (#624) hydraulic pump problems <br /> -1 ton truck (#615) had transmission lines replaced <br /> -Mower (#623) had starter rebuilt <br /> -Mowers (#613/616) had body work and painting done along with misc. mechanical <br />repairs <br /> -Trucks (#625/626) had receiver hitches installed <br /> <br /> <br />
