PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:43 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Receive Recommendation for Planning Commission Appointment <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that the interviewing panel had <br />recommended Mr. Leo J. Anderson to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission. She <br />summarized his experience. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend that City <br />Council appoint Leo J. Anderson to the Planning Commission for a term to expire 12/31/01. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Beyer. Voting No: None. <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Review Proposed Job Description for Community Development Director <br />Position <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reminded the Committee that when the City's <br />Economic Development Coordinator resigned, the position was lef~ vacant, with the idea that the <br />ney/City Administrator should assess the City's economic development needs. During the past <br />two months, the City Administrator has concluded that the City's entire Community <br />Development Department would benefit from some reorganization, the establishment of a <br />Community Development Director position, and the elimination of the Economic Development <br />Personnel Committee/April 14, 1998 <br />Page I of 3 <br /> <br />/-/5 <br /> <br /> <br />
