Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In February 1998, the City received a market study for a proposed senior rental housing <br />project in the Ramsey area. The market study concluded that a demand for senior rental <br />housing existed in Ramsey and the matter was turned over to the Anoka County Housing <br />Redevelopment Authority (HRA). A subcommittee was formed with City representation <br />and a search for a site was initiated. A site analysis, completed in March 1998, discussed <br />site selection and the City Council, at their June 9, 1998 meeting, selected the site known <br />as the Laws property. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The County HRA subcommittee met on Wednesday, June 10, and recommended that the <br />City Council authorize acquisition of the Laws property for public senior housing <br />purposes.
