Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Couneilmernber Zimmennan to authorize the <br />creation of a corporal position responsible for establishing and maintaining the Volunteer Public <br />Safety Aide Unit as well as regular patrol duties. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Garnet, Coundlmembers Beyer, Zimmerman, and Beahen. <br />Voting No: Councilmember Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen noted this is June 9, mid-year, and the City is adding or promoting <br />personnel which opens the door for other units to come in with the same request. She stated that <br />at budget time she will be talking about outcome budget and if departments are getting to goals <br />and objectives. <br /> <br />Assistant Finance Director Lund noted this will be included with the budget amendments al the <br />next Council meeting and will be listed separately. <br /> <br />Case #13: <br /> <br />City of Ramsey vs Thomas and PattiAnn Kurak et. al. Street Right-of-Way <br />Condemnation Lawsuit (Closed to the public) <br /> <br />The Council recessed to a closed session at 9:58 p.m. to discuss Case #13. <br /> <br />The Council re, convened its regular meeting at 10:15 p.m, with Linda Wake Smith taking minutes. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Finance,,,officer Interviews <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed the results of their interviews with two Finance Officer finalists. Atter <br />giving their impressions of the candidates, they asked City Administrator Jim Norman for his <br />recommendation. Mx. Norman acknowledged that both candidates were qualified to perform the <br />duties of the position. Based on his experience working with candidate Diana Lund, the Acting <br />Finance Officer, he would recommend her. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to authorize the City <br />Administrator and Administrative Services Manager to offer the position of Finance Officer to <br />Diana J, Lurid, work out the terms of employment, and bring the agreement to the City Council <br />for final approval at the June 23, 1998 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Cramec, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, H~as Steffen, and <br />Zimmerman.
