By: <br /> <br /> RECOMMEND APPOINTMENT OF <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the City Administrator, the City Council recently <br />eliminated the Economic Development Coordinator position and created a Community <br />Development Director position. This department head position was advertised, <br />applications were rated and ranked, and the top five candidates were interviewed in June. <br />Administrative interviews were conducted by the City Administrator and Administrative <br />Services Manager. Technical interviews were conducted by an economic development <br />consultant and the Community Development Director of Roseville. On the basis of the <br />interviews, two finalists were interviewed by the City Council on July 21. <br /> <br />This case is being prepared before a hiring recommendation is complete.
