Code requires all non-residential buildings to be faced with natural or artificial stone, unless otherwise approved by City Council. The existing building is sided with a combination of colored metal panels and brick. In November of 1997, Council approved siding the accessory building like the principal building.. Because the site is relatively flat, a plan should be submitted showing existing and proposed elevations so that a determination can be made as to how much additional water might drain to the street. Recommendation: City Staff recommends approval of the amended accessory building size. However, this will result in two substantial buildings on the 1.5 acre lot and Staff is recommending that some landscaping be incorporated into this expansion plan to soften the visual impact of the buildings from the public right-of-way. Council Action: Motion to approve/deny the proposed site plan amendment for Don Nordvik at 8020 147th Avenue N.W. contingent upon providing a landscaping plan and entering into a revised site plan development permit with the City.
