She <br />added that a description of needs should be developed for the City Council presentation. <br /> <br />Commissioner Droegemueller stated that Mark Boos may have already done a lot of this <br />preparation. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Johns stated the following information is needed from Mark Boos: <br /> <br />· A list of community resources to target for support <br />· Notification to City Council of Commission ideas <br />· Request for City Council to notify targeted businesses - or <br />· Assemble committee to assist in notifying targeted businesses <br />* Timeline for August meeting and presentation <br /> <br />She then added that this list should be placed on the agenda for the July 23 meeting. She stated <br />this meeting would take place at 6:00 p.m., and would include only the Park and Recreation <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere asked when the next City Council meeting would be held. <br /> <br />Mr. Kapler stated July 14 is the next City Council meeting, and that there may be another Council <br />meeting following the Commission's July 23 meeting. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Johns suggested City Council be included in the Park and Recreation's August <br />meeting. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Kapler stated that City Administrator Jim Norman is supportive of the park trail system. He <br />has suggested that tables be placed along trails with sign-in forms so users can form support <br />groups called "Friends of the Trail Systems". Mr. Kapler went on to say that a trail extension is <br />needed along the west side of Sunfish Lake, up to the existing trail on 153rd. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere agreed with both the support group and trail extension ideas. <br /> <br />Mr. Kapler added that these ideas could be brought up at the joint Council/Commission meeting, <br />if held in August. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Droegemueller, and seconded by Commissioner LaMere, to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/July 9, 1998 <br /> Page 11 of 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
