PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT CITY OF RAMSEY The Ramsey Public Works Department conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 1998, at the Public Works Building, 14100 Jaspar St. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. CALL TO ORDER Dean called the meeting of the Public Works Department to order at 8:00 a.m. In attendance was Dean Kapler, Merle Mevissen, Mark Boos, Grant Riemer, Jim Lacey, John Nelson, Greg Talbot, Brian ]1mot and Mick Stenquist. The next meeting will be September 30, 1998, at 8:00 a.m. Dean reviewed the August 25, 1998 City Council meeting. TRAINING · September 16, 1998, there will be a training class on hearing and fall protection. This possibly could change because ora conflict with another class for Dean, Merle and Mark. · Training for 1999 wiI1 include OSHA mandated training every other month, with Department training the opposite months. OSHA training schedule w/Il be: January March May July September November Blood Born Pathogens Confined Space Awareness Right to Know (for full-time staff) Right to Know (for part-time staff) Fall Protection, Eye Wash and Shower, and Hearing Conservation MN AWAIR · Some suggested internal classes were: Fire extinguisher training Electrical power supply issues such as what is appropriate for us to do and what is not Basic first aid and CPR certification SAFETY CONCERNS · It was suggested that chain-saw leggings be purchased. Cost is approximately $75 per pair. · Vehicles//618 and #615 will be advertised in the Anoka Union and Shopper. They will be parked in the fi, ont for interested people to look at.
