I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September <br />22, 1998, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at <br />5:32 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Authorize Hiring Part-Time Administrative Intern <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith noted there has been discussion about <br />hiring an intern to assist City Administrator Norman for next year. However, Mr. <br />Norman would like an intern to begin in the last quarter of this year if Council will <br />approve it. There are a number of major projects in the planning stages such as the senior <br />housing project, community center, expansion of City Hall, creation of a City Internet <br />web site, and the City's upcoming twenty-fifth anniversary celebration. There is a need <br />for staff representation and information gathering on these and other projects right now <br />and current staff is involved in other ongoing projects as well as day-to-day operations. <br />Mr. Norman is requesting an intern for 20 hours a week for the last quarter which <br />calculates to about $3,000 in cost. Finance Officer Lund has said the money would come <br />out of the Council Contingency Fund. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/September 22, 1998 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
