Councilmember Tossey explained the probation was voted to be extended by the City Council. <br />The City Administrator is to make the decision and not the Council. Therefore, the Council <br />acted in error. <br />Mayor Ramsey agreed that the recommendation to extend the probation should not have been <br />made. <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember Tossey to reverse the motion to extend <br />the probationary period and adopt Resolution #11 -04 -089 to end the probationary period of the <br />Economic Development and Marketing Manager as of May 8, 2011. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Tossey, Elvig, McGlone, and <br />Wise. Absent: Councilmernbers Backous and Jeffrey. Voting No: None. <br />8. MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br />Mayor Ramsey noted the following events: <br />Thursday, April 28, 2011 - Anoka Technical College Annual Fundraiser Breakfast - 7:30 a.m. at <br />The Fountains of Ramsey. Honored at the breakfast will be retired Anoka County Commissioner <br />Dennis Berg. <br />Friday, April 29, 2011 - Retirement Dinner for Anoka County Administrator Terry Johnson - <br />4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Greenhaven Golf Course, Anoka, MN <br />Saturday, April 30, 2011 - Ramsey Business/Environmental Expo. 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The <br />Business Expo will be held at The Fountains and the Environmental Expo & Tree Sale will be <br />held at the Ramsey Municipal Center <br />Monday, May 2, 2011 - Joint City Council meeting with the City of Andover - 6:30 p.m. - <br />Ramsey City Hall - Lake Itasca Room. There will be no meeting on Tuesday, May 24. <br />Councilmember Tossey noted that Councilmember Jeffrey had surgery and is doing remarkably <br />well. <br />9.
