Amend t~he current policy to speei _fy that facilities are not available for private parties. <br />The City of Anoka policy states that weddings and private parties are not allowed. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Because of the shortage of space and the difficulty of deciding which private parties are <br />suitable renters, staff'recommends that the current policy on facility usage be amended to <br />specify that space in the Municipal Center/City Hall is not available for rental by <br />individuals for private purposes or by groups raising funds not used solely for charitable <br />or community purposes. <br /> <br />Staff also recommends that requests that don't clearly fit the policy criteria for approval <br />or denial be referred to the Finance Committee of the City Council for final disposition. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Amend the current Facility Use and Rental Policy to add the following: <br /> <br />Space in the Municipal Center/City Hall is not available for rental by individuals for <br />private purposes. <br /> <br />Space in the Municipal Center/City Hall is not available for rental by for-profit groups or <br />groups raising funds not used soley for charitable or community service purposes. <br /> <br />Rental applications that don't clearly meet the policy criteria will be referred to the <br />Finance Committee of the City Council for final disposition. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Administrative Services Manager <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />FC: 11/10/98 <br /> <br />lindas\adminsvs.96kfacility.cas <br /> <br />~q <br /> <br /> <br />
