November 6, 1998 <br /> <br /><<Name>> <br /><<Company>> <br /><<Address>> <br /><<City>> <br /> <br />Request for Qualification for the Preparation of the Revision and Updating of the City's <br />Comprehensive Water Utility Plan <br /> <br />Dear <<Salutation>>: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey had a comprehensive analysis of its water utility prepared in 1994. The <br />majority of the information dates back to 1992 and 1993. Since that time, the water utility has <br />expanded considerably both in terms of water consumption and also in the nature of the utilities <br />customers. <br /> <br />The study should be an in-depth review of the utility source, storage, and distribution system <br />needs. Several issues facing the water utility which need to be considered in detail include <br />emergency preparedness, water conservation practices, and treatment for water quality. In <br />addition, the utility will want the existing water rate structure reviewed with particular attention <br />given to fire protection costs and charges, along with a discussion of private water/fire lines. <br /> <br />The City is currently finishing a comprehensive land use plan which shall be the basis for future <br />water use projections.
