CC Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 06/14/2011 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services <br />Title: <br />Discussion Regarding the Policy for Appointing Board and Commission Members <br />Background: <br />On occasion members of the City Council have requested an opportunity to discuss the policy for appointing board <br />and commission members. These discussions have included term limits, staggering terms, attendance, removal, <br />service on more than one board, advertising, and the incumbent reappointment process. <br />At this time, members of the City Council wish to discuss term limits for board and commission members. The <br />current policy does not limit the number of terms members may serve. <br />It should be noted that term limits were implemented in August of 1997 and then removed in March of 2006.
