Storm Sewer Projects (continued)

and wetland that terminates north of the railroad tracks approximately halfway between
Armstrong and Ramsey Boulevards. This area includes Section 28 which is presently farmland
and will soon be opened for development by the construction at C.R. #t 16 between C.R. #56 and
C.R. #83. This project proposes a major storm sewer beneath the railroad tracks and into the
Huseby property which will be developed into a county park, The storm water will receive
treatment from ponding which may be designed as an amenity for the park. The cost of this
project includes construction and project overhead and is anticipated to cost $200,000.

Clean County Ditch #43

County Ditch #47 drains an area of the City known as District Forty Three which extends north
roughly to 153rd Avenue and west to C.R. #57. It has been storm sewered through the
Flintwood Hills and River's Bend subdivisions and flows into wetlands in River's Bend Park.
The extreme northern portion of the Ditch #43 has long been overgrown with vegetation and it's
pathway bearly distinguishable. The catch basin outlets on 153rd Avenue are frequently
submerged and freeze closed in the winter causing the street to flood and freeze. Re-ditching
approximately t,600 feet of County Ditch #43 would serve to provide better drainage which may
alleviate this problem. The cost of this project includes construction and overhead cost which are
estimated to be $175,000.

Clean County Ditch #3 Area Ditch #66
Phase I C.R. #5 to C.R. #56

This county ditch drains an area of the City known as District #66 in the 1980 Comprehensive
Drainage Plan for the City of Ramsey, an area that represents roughly twenty percent of the area
of the City and is located in the middle of the City, south of Trott Brook. This ditch system was
constructed near the turn of the century, and has received only emergency maintenance when
blockages occur, or has been cleaned by individuals upon their own volition. County ditch law
makes comprehensive cleaning by the county unlikely. Since this ditch serves .thc drainage
needs of the citizens of Ramsey, the City should consider restoring this ditch to its original
section to prevent flooding. The cost of this project would include removal of trees and shrubs
from the ditch and its banks and the excavation of material. The first phase of this project would
run from T.H. #47 to C.S.A.H. #5, a distance of 6,800 feet. The cost of this project includes
construction and project overhead cost which are estimated to be $175,500.

Clean County Ditch #3
Phase II C.S.A.H. #5/C.R. #56

This is the second phase of a two-stage project to clean and restore the flood flow capacity of
County Ditch #3. it is necessary to perform this work subsequent to the first stage,
the ditch should be cleaned from downstream to upstream. The project includes cleaning 7,200
feet of ditch from C.S.A.H. #5 to C.R. #56. The costs of this project include construction and
project overhead cost which are estimated to be $187,200.
