CITY OF RAMSEY
1998-2003

?APITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

PROJECT TITLE: Sunwood Drive - Sunny Ponds to Trunk Highway g47
PROJECT TYPE: Street Improvement
PROJECT YEAR: 1999
TOTAL ESTIMATED COST: $292,000

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION

Sunwood Drive is an important east-west collector street in the southeastern portion of the City.
This improvement would consist of an approximate 1,500 foot MSA street section with curb
,;
and gutter. '

PROJECT
Start Date

'ROJECT JUSTIFICATION

'he extension of Sunwood Drive from Sunny Ponds to Trunk Highway g47 would complete a key element in the plan
to have Sun':.,ood Drive be a major east-west collector street. This section is included as part of the Trunk Highway//47
C'~rridor Plan as it consolidates a goal of having signalized intersections at roughly half-mile intervals. Although it would be
possible to construct the Trunk Highway t/47 project without this as a concurrent element of the STP project, it will serve
to allow Trunk Highway//47 to function more efficiently and contribute to the signalization warrants for 149th Avenue.
'There would also be a reduction in costs by concurrent construction as it would eliminate future resignalization and
intersection modification costs when the intersection would be reconstructed from three legs to four legs.

Summary of Total Project Costs:

A.
