Letter to Carl Saafion
March 27, 1998

Only one proposal should be submitted fi.om each vendor, with the following exception:

An altemate playground proposal may be submitted if it contains a track ride. The alternate play
structure should be similar to the primary proposal so as to evaluate the play value to dollar
relationship of inclusion of a track ride. The primary play structure proposal must not contain a
track ride.

The following considerations should guide the development of your proposal and may be used as
a checklist for ranking proposals received. The City reserves the right to deviate from the
suggestions in any way.

The wood play structure should include:
Tunnel(s)
Slides
Bridge(s)
· Climbers
At least one swing (A stand alone swing for older children may be considered a
plus.)

The play structure should generally be designed for children six to ten years old.

The panels, etc. should be colors that compliment a wood play structure.

The play structure should not contain see-through bubbles.

In addition to the above play equipment specifications, the City invites separate quotations on
three wood benches with back rests and a vandal resistant park entrance sign. Should you have
questions on this project, please do not hesitate to call me at 427-8254 or 427-1410.

Sincerely,

CITY OF RAMSEY

Mark Boos
Parks/Utilities Supervisor

MB:ccr

CC:

Park and Recreation Commission
Public Works Director/Fire Chief

~colleen/corresp/markb/1998/parks/ltrfppel.doc
