March 27,

Recreation, Spo~,s/& Play
P.O. Box 194//'
Circle Pi~s', MN 55014-0194
A~J~arl Saarion
,/D'ear Carl;

The City of Ramsey intends to purchase a wood play structure for Peltzer Park early in 1998.
The purpose of this correspondence is to solicit proposals from your company. Ramsey City
Council and the Park and Recreation Commission have allocated $22,000 for the play structure
itself. This is a not-to-exceed amount including delivery and tax. The budget for other
improvements, such as installation, is separate from the figure above. (The City has established a
not-to-exceed amount of $4,000 for the play equipment installation and intends on contracting
installation of the equipment purchased.)

Enclosed is an expected time table for the playground project. Vendors should specify if the
general time frame shown is not reasonable as the purchase order issued will identify a mutually
agreed upon completion date. The purchase order will specify liquidated damages per day after
that date.

Proposals in quotation form are due at Ramsey City Hall by 5:00 p.m. on April 8, 1998.
Unfortunately, the Park and Recreation Commission has a limited amount of time to review the
proposals - so your proposal should "stand on it's own". Vendors will not be afforted the
opportunity to make presentations.

In addition to the task by time table, a park plan is enclosed. The plan shows the existing play
equipment bordered by two tiers of treated timbers. Vendors should specifically indicate how
much, if any, of the timbers will need to be realigned for the new structure. The amount of pea
gravel that will need to be temporarily relocated (if any) is also a consideration. The
approximate configuration and dimensions of the timbers is shown on the park plan and separate
sheet. The Park Survey is also included for your information.
