· Which community park space(s) is available for purchase in the five year time frame - and, to
what extent do park improvements wait (in light of any funding constraints) so as to ensure
land is available for the long-term.
How much general fund dollars should be expected to be available for any year of the CIP?
(The Commission had requested $20,000 as an average amount for any year.)
· Assuming general fund availability, are there som'e improvements that are more suitable for
general fund expenditures than others?
· Should significant trail projects continue to be considered for competition with other park
projects, given the 1997 establishment of a trail development fee? (The trail funds status is
now $3,300.)

Relative to Landfill Trust Fund availability, the amounts expected are:

1999 $75,000; 2000 $69,000; 2001 $72,000; 2002 $72,000; 2003 $75,000; and 2004 $75,000.

Another topic for City Council and the Park Commission is the potential continued use of
Economic Development Authority (EDA) moneys for critical trail links.

The Council and Commission may wish to consider a joint meeting in July or August to agree on
the above park improvement strategies.

The agenda will be mailed on Friday, June 5, 1998, for the June 1 lth meeting scheduled for 6:00
p.m. at Central Park.
