There are currently 5 <br />people on our list of eligible candidates, ranked according to test and interview scores. Selection <br />to fill a firefighter position is contingent on passing an agility test, background checks, and a <br />physical examination which includes screens for alcohol, drugs and nicotine. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Fire Chief, Assistant Chief and Administrative Services Manager are requesting <br />authorization to offer the three vacant firefighter positions to three people on the eligibles list, <br />based on their availability to respond and their performance on an agility test. Hiring would be <br />continent on successfully passing the physical examination and background checks with the <br />Department of Motor Vehicles and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that Council authorize staff to offer firefighters positions to three people <br />on the current eligibility list, contingent on passing the physical examination, agility test and <br />background checks. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Fire Chief <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />PC 02/11/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
