RECEIVE RECOMMENDATION FOR APPOINTMENTS TO CITY COMMISSIONS <br /> By: Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />There are currently vacancies on three City commissions: Charter, Economic Development, and <br />Park & Recreation. The vacancies were advertised and thirteen people submitted applications by <br />the deadline. Ihterviews were held on February 3 and 6. For each commission, the interview <br />panel consisted of the chair and vice chair of the commission, Mayor Gamec, a Councilmember <br />and me. All candidates were asked the same questions. It was the consensus of the interview <br />panels to recommend that the following applicants be appointed: <br /> <br />Char~¢r Commission <br />Kenneth Peterson to complete Judy Roll's term which expires May 12. 1999. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Michael Rolfe to complete Michael Skinner's term which expires October 31, 1997. <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission <br />Lisa Montague to complete Allen Stafld's term which expires January 31, 1999. <br />Lydia Scheiber to complete a term to expire January 31, 1999. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />1. Motion to_ recommend that City Council approve recommendation of interview panel to <br />appoint new members to the City's Charter, Economic Development and Park & Recreation <br />commissions. <br /> <br />2.
