3) Review and Adopt the 1998 Budget Calendar Ms. Hart stated that the Finance Committee reviewed the 1998 budget calendar and directed one amendment. During the week of July 7 - 18, they added that the Finance Committee would be included in the work sessions as opposed to doing that the week of August 4 - 8. Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Resolution g07-02-048 approving the City of Ramsey's 1998 Budget Calendar, as amended. Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 4) Consider Membership in Joint MPRS Affirmative Action Program Ms. Hart reported that the Finance Committee recommended City participation in the joint MPRS aff'n-mative action program. Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt Resolution g97-02-049 authorizing the City to participate in joint affunnative action activities to comply with the November 1996 court order in the MPRS lawsuit. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 5) Consider Possible Appeal of Court Order in MPRS Lawsuit Ms. Hart announced this case discussion is closed to the public. The action will be recorded following the adjournment of the regular meeting. MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT 1) Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to have the City sponsor two tables at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast scheduled for 7:15 a.m., March 20, 1997, at Greenhaven. Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 2) League of Women Voters Mayor Garnet reported that he had met with the League of Women Voters and talked about getting information out with regard to MUSA lines, etc. Ellen Stanley, representing the League of Women Voters, stated that the information has to be non- partisan, factual and generic. Councilmember Haas Steffen suggested information/education on the Charter, MUSA, Comprehensive Plans, etc. If this can be done by the League, they would then be able to use the Ramsey Resident. Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to draft a letter and set out points and a time table so the League of Women Voters has something to work on.
