I I I I I I i I I I I 1 I I I I I Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION 97-03-XXX RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MnDOT) A N ENGINEERING STUDY TO DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE SPEED LIMIT FOR COUNTY ROAD #83, COUNTY ROAD #56 AND COUNTY ROAD #57 WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY WHEREAS, County Road #83, County Road #56 and County Road #57 within the City were last previously studied for appropriate speed limit,, poStings in 1985, 1977 and 1975, respectively; and and WHEREAS, traffic levels have increased considerably on these highways in the interim; WHEREAS, new speed limits may be appropriate as a result of changes in the traveling public§ habits over this length of time; and WHEREAS, the highway segments are within the City of Ramsey, but are under jurisdiction of Anoka County. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: 1) That City of Ramsey does hereby support and endorse a request by Anoka County to request a traffic study be conducted by MnDOT for the purpose of determining the appropriate speed limits for the above referenced segments of roadway. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the l lth day of March, 1997
