She felt that the candidate <br />should be asked how he intends to proceed in that direction and to accomplish the things listed in <br />the report. Chief Auspos stated, that without getting to any conclusions, he would like to praise <br />Ms. Waite Smith and Mr. Schroeder for the construction of this report in the short period of time <br />allowed for it. Ms. Waite Smith communicated that one of the most important things about this <br />report is that it accurately reflects what people said in the interviews. She hoped that people will <br />say something if what they have said has been misinterpreted. She added that everyone who was <br />interviewed also received a copy of this report. Councilmember Haas Steffen clarified that she is <br />not saying that staff falsified or misinterpreted anything that was said in the interviews. Her <br />objection is to the closed process. Her objection was based on the fact that only one candidate <br />from the department was qualified. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
