I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

City of Ramsey

1/14/97

We are requesting a conditional use permit for the
purpose of ~emoving up to 200,000 cubic yards of sand fill
from our property at 6219 Green Valley Road. We have
submitted a plan showing contours of the existing hill as
well as wetlands to the south. We plan to have a finished
grade on the north slope of 874'9", with a 1%' slope to the
south, with a south slope elevation of not less than 871'9".
This height is well above the 109-year high water level of
863'9", per the DNR.

We do not plan to interfere with any of the
wetlands or Trott Brook, which is 350-4~9' south of the 871'
contour.

This hill has few trees on it, with the exception
of about 15 cedar trees and six oaks, some of which are
dead. We plan to replant an equal number of spruce trees
along the swale near the west line of the excavation.

We plan to sell the sand, having the trucks that
are hauling enter the property from Green Valley Road, using
the proposed haul road to the excavation site, as shown on
the site plan, A silt fence will be maintained along the
south side of the excavation adjacent to the wetlands. The
topsoil will be removed and stockpiled with no more than 59%
of the site having the topsoil removed at one time. The
topsoil will be used to restore the site.

When the excavation is completed, we intend to use
the property for agricultural purposes, with the finished
grade well above the high-wat~r level so as to leave the
property suitable for building.

We are requesting the conditional use permit for
three to five years, with the option of receiving olean
till, not to exceed 10,909 yards annually.

Eric and Karla Thomsen
