I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Gamec <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:25 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Receive Recommendation for Appointment to Economic Development <br />Commission <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that the interviewing panel recommended <br />appointing Harlan Anderson to complete Judy Roff's term on the Economic Development <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to recommend that City <br />Council approve the recommendation of the interview panel to appoint Harl~'a Anderson to the <br />City's Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Haas Steffen. Voting No: <br />None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />Case #2: Report on Arrangements for 1997 Commission Appreciation Dinner <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that the second annual Commission <br />Appreciation Day is scheduled for Monday evening, April 14, at Majestic Oaks. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman offered to donate $50 for two, $25 door prizes. <br /> <br />Consensus was to recommend Council approve holding the 1997 Commission Appreciation <br />Dinner at Majestic Oaks on April 14, 1997. <br /> <br />Case #3: Report on Police Department Staffing <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that the City received 1'79 applications for <br />the Patrol Officer position being added in the Police Department, effective July 1, 1997. She <br />presented an analysis of the applicants, including gender, race, residence and refbrral source.
